Motorcycle racing ace Derek McGee was the dominant force at the Faugheen 50 Road Races near Carrick-on-Suir on Sunday clinching five wins and two laps records and the Man of the Meeting award.

McGee, who is known as the Mullingar Missile, achieved these victories on the back of four wins at racing meets in Walderstown, Athlone and five wins at Enniskillen in Co. Fermanagh.

He also broke two more lap records in the practice sessions at the Faugheen 50 but unfortunately they didn't count. McGee races in the Armoy road races next Saturday and will be aiming to better his record of three Irish Championships.

The field of more thn 80 racers came from all over the Republic and Northern Ireland as well as the UK. The races also attracted a competitor from Taiwan.
