Tipperary SFC: Kiladangan face Drom & Inch in a battle to avoid the drop at Dolla

Some eye-catching contest takes place on the football scene in the Premier County this weekend. And, one stand-out fixture is the meeting of Kiladangan and Drom & Inch in the Tipperary Water County Senior Football Championship relegation final - the sides will clash at Dolla (12 noon) on Sunday, October 14th with the loser facing the drop to the intermediate ranks.

In the relegation semi-finals on Saturday, October 6th Galtee Rovers beat Drom & Inch 1-13 to 0-11 while on Tuesday, October 9th in Puckane Kiladangan lost out to Éire Óg Annacarty (2-8 to 1-13).


Meanwhile two attractive semi-finals in the Tipperary Water County Senior Football Championship will take place on Sunday, October 14th: Ardfinnan take on Loughmore-Castleiney in Holycross (2pm) while Cahir will host the meeting of defending champions Clonmel Commercials and Moyle Rovers (4pm).

Loughmore-Castleiney beat Arravale Rovers (1-12 to 0-8) in the quarter-finals while Moyle Rovers proved too strong for Killenaule (3-13 to 1-9). In the remaining last eight clashes Ardfinnan saw off the challenge of Ballyporeen (0-22 to 0-9) while Clonmel Commercials enjoyed a thirteen-point win over Kilsheelan-Kilcash (0-17 to 0-4).


In the semi-finals of the Tipperary Water County Intermediate Football Championship on Saturday, October 6th Golden-Kilfeacle dismissed the challenge of Borrisokane (2-11 to 0-5) at Templemore while on Saturday, October 13th Grangemockler-Ballyneale will take on Moyne-Templetuohy in their respective last four clash in Golden (1pm).

Grangemockler-Ballyneale enjoyed a walkover win over Clonoulty-Rossmore recently in the quarter-finals while Borrisokane progressed to the semi-finals thanks to a 2-9 to 0-12 victory over Clonmel Commercials. In the last eight Golden-Kilfeacle beat Moyle Rovers (1-11 to 2-7) while the last of the quarter-finals took place on Saturday, October 6th when Moyne-Templetuohy proved too strong for Rockwell Rovers (2-10 to 0-8) at Holycross.


Three of the four quarter-finals in the Tipperary Water County Junior A Football Championship take place on Saturday, October 13th: JK Bracken's v Newport in Moneygall (12 noon), Portroe v Holycross-Ballycahill in Templederry (2pm) and Ballylooby-Castlegrace v Emly in Bansha (2pm). The last of the quarter-finals is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, October 16th at New Inn when Cappawhite and Mullinahone collide (8pm).


Drombane (2pm) will host the Tipperary Water County Minor B Football Championship final on Saturday, October 20th when Drom & Inch face Knockavilla-Donaskeigh Kickhams. Both semi-finals took place on October 6th - Knockavilla Kickhams beat Mullinahone in Monroe (3-11 to 3-7) while Drom & Inch proved too strong for Ballina at St Michael’s Park in Toomevara (2-11 to 1-8).
