Nenagh CBS and Our Lady’s Templemore are preparing this week to launch their 2018-19 Dr Harty Cup (Munster Under-19A Post-Primary Schools Hurling Championship) campaigns - on Wednesday, October 17th Nenagh CBS take on St Colman’s Fermoy at Cashel (1.30pm) while Our Lady’s Templemore face John The Baptist Community School at Nenagh (1.30pm).
The tournament features a group stage with the winning team and the runners-up in each respective group progressing to the seeded quarter-finals.
Nenagh CBS have been drawn in group A alongside Árdscoil Rís (Limerick), St Colman’s Fermoy (Cork) and Gaelcholáiste Mhuire (Cork). Nenagh CBS will face Árdscoil Rís on Wednesday, November 7th and Gaelcholáiste Mhuire on Wednesday, November 21st.
Midleton CBS (Cork), De La Salle (Waterford) and St Flannan’s Ennis (Clare) will contest group B while Our Lady’s Templemore feature in group C alongside Blackwater Community School (Waterford) and John the Baptist Community School Hospital (Limerick). Our Lady’s will take on Blackwater Community School on Wednesday, November 7th.
Thurles CBS feature in group D alongside Christian Brothers College (Cork) and Castletroy College (Limerick). Thurles CBS will launch their campaign against Castletroy College on Wednesday, November 7th while on Wednesday, November 21st they will face Christian Brothers College.
Thurles CBS have won eight Dr Harty Cup titles with their last materializing in 2015. Our Lady's Templemore have won the title twice and collected the crown famously in 2017 while Nenagh CBS have appeared in four finals, but, unfortunately, lost them all.
Limerick’s Árdscoil Rís are the defending champions and have won five of the last nine provincial titles.
