Eagerly anticipated Mid Tipperary senior hurling final replay is fixed for October 27th

Glory days: captain Pádraic Maher and friends pictured accepting the cup following Thurles Sarsfields' hard-fought 2017 Centenary Agri Mid Tipperary Senior Hurling Championship final win.

The eagerly-anticipated replay of the Centenary Agri Mid Tipperary Senior Hurling Championship final between defending champions Thurles Sarsfields and Loughmore-Castleiney will take place on Saturday, October 27th in Templetuohy (throw-in 4pm) - Johnny Ryan (Boherlahan-Dualla) will referee the decider.

The original final went to extra-time and not even an additional period of extra-time could separate these great Mid Tipperary rivals (2-28 each) at Templetuohy.

In this year's quarter-finals Thurles Sarsfields saw off the challenge of Upperchurch-Drombane (1-19 to 1-16) while JK Bracken’s proved too strong for Clonakenny (2-23 to 1-13). At the same stage of the competition Loughmore-Castleiney beat Drom & Inch (0-27 to 0-17) and Holycross-Ballycahill comfortably won their contest with Moycarkey-Borris (2-18 to 1-11).

In the semi-finals Thurles Sarsfields beat JK Bracken's (5-26 to 2-16) while Loughmore-Castleiney dismissed the challenge of Holycross-Ballycahill (1-30 to 0-10).
