Late Chrissie Guidera, Manna South
The death occurred on October 29th of Chrissie Guidera (nee O'Brien) Manna South Templemore.
Chrissie died peacefully just short of her 91st birthday, following a short illness, surrounded by her husband and loving family.
A native of Thurles, she married Paddy Guidera in 1960 and spent all of her married life – that of 57 years living in Templemore - for 40 years in Church Street, where they raised their family of 3 children, and for the past 17 years with daughter Anna Marie and family.
Chrissie had a quiet mild mannered demeanour and always created a sense of welcoming, acceptance and respect to all those who met her. The core to her being was family. She embraced the stillness and quietness of life but at the same time encouraged others (to partake) in their enthusiasm.
For some years in the early 70’s Chrissie worked as a substitute teacher in St Joseph’s Primary School.
She had a great love of music and instilled this love to her children and grandchildren.
She was a member of the Legion of Mary for many years.
Chrissie was forever grateful to Lakeside Pitch and Putt Club in Templemore who honoured her father Charlie O’Brien every year. It meant a lot to her and kept the memory of her father alive in her heart.
For relaxation she loved crosswords, games of patience and card playing with the family.
She will be sadly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Sincere sympathy is extended to her husband Paddy, daughters Anna-Marie and Joanne, son John, sister Una, sister in law Kathleen, sons in law, daughter in law, grandchildren Sorcha, Chloe, Danny, Jack, Fiona and Ava, nephews, nieces, extended family and friends.
Her remains reposed in Greys Funeral Home, where many people came to pay their respects. Following Requiem Mass in the Church of the Sacred Heart Templemore, interment took place in St Joseph’s Cemetery.
May her gentle soul rest in peace.
