A poster advertising the Water Heritage Day photography contest
A photography competition to document invasive plant species along the banks of the River Suir in Tipperary is being run for Water Heritage Day.
The public are invited by the Local Authority Waters Programme and Suircan to photograph one of the following: Giant Hogweed, Japanese Knotweed and Himalyan Balsalm to be in with a chance to win €100.
Pictures of these invasive species must be taken along the River Suir in county Tipperary.
This Citizen Scientist competition will be of interest to anybody who regularly walks, fishes or works by the river.

Entrants must name the plant species and detail where and when they located the species.
You can enter the competition as many times as you like. Closing date for entries is August 20 and the winner will be announced on Water Heritage Day, which is August 25.
