Enjoy the outdoors with Mid Tipp Hillwalkers
Friday, July 6, walkers enjoyed sunshine on their walk on the Silvermines Ridge. Making their way around the Knockanora loop, they admired Keeper Hill. On the ridge people enjoyed the beautiful scenery - Lough Derg, the Shannon, Galway was mentioned, and of course the closed down mines, the tailing ponds and Silvermines Village. Back down from the ridge and everyone took on the challenge of Coolyhorney hill, quite a steep hill presents a personal achievement once you reach the top.
Next Friday, July 13, we head to Durrow. Meet outside Castle Arms Hotel 7pm.
Sunday, July 8, saw the Final Sunday walks from Cashel until September.
The A level walk started from the Nire Valley in the Comeragh Mountains. A party ascended Curraghduff. Lunch was on the cliff edge overlooking the Sgilloge Lough's with panaramonic views. The group chose the unusual route across the plateau to approach Coumshingaun from a direction never done by the group before.
Willie Fahey led the C walk in West Knockmealdowns.
Anybody planning a walk during the summer and willing to invite club members, let Dan know and he can circulate details.
