CJ KICKHAMS GAA
Once again our club has scooped the top prize in the draw. Michael Lawrence won the first prize of the car. The ticket was sold by Lance Vaughen. You can still join this draw for E10 per month and be in with a chance of winning many top prizes each month. Contact club co-ordinator Tommy O’Sullivan for details.
Last Friday night in Thurles , Eoin Fennelly, Cathal Horan and Denis Connolly were part of the Tipperary Minor hurling panel to lose out to a very strong and impressive Clare team. Hard luck on the night lads and I have no doubt you’ll all enjoy good days ahead with club and county. On Saturday it was Niall Currans turn to line out with Tipps footballers against Laois in the qualifiers. Niall has lined out with Tipp footballers for many years now and great credit is due to the player for the time and effort he has put into club and county at both football and hurling. Hard luck on this occasion Niall. Sunday night saw us play Davins in the senior hurling championship. Already qualified for the semi-finals we lined out without Eoin Kelly and went on to earn a draw at 1-15 each. Our intermediate footballers are also in the semi-finals. This Saturday our minors hurlers start their campaign against Ballingarry . We wish Manager Johnny Kennedy and his selectors luck for the championship. Our U21’s are preparing for their championship and our Junior hurlers still have games to play.

Work is now underway every Thursday night at 7pm. This week work continues on the grotto at Kickham place. A lot of planting has taken place over the past weeks and some nice flower boxes have been put in place. Well done to all the people who have painted and power-washed buildings recently. Already improvements can be seen in the village. Following their recent inspections on derelict buildings the council are currently preparing files on these and hope to give direction on them in the near future.
Congratulations to our junior team who won the Tipperary Junior B League title recently. The Under 12 girls are also in a county final against Brian Boru’s in New Inn this week.
Membership for the coming year is now due. All members are asked to renew their membership by July 20 to ensure unbroken continuation of their insurance. This is very important in order to protect both members and land owners. To renew, please contact Martin Reilly, Treasurer on 087 7991179.
A Bake Sale will take place in the Church Car Park before Saturday night mass on this Saturday and also after 9.30am and 11.30am masses on Sunday.
The playground for Mullinahone Committee would like to invite you to their official launch night, on Saturday July 2, at 9pm in T.J. Mac’s bar, Mullinahone. On the night, they will hold a mouse race with live music fantastic prizes and your first opportunity to view the official plans for the playground.
Mice for the race can be purchased in advance in your area anywhere you see the poster displayed. Members of the committee have been calling door to door and would like to thank everybody for the wonderful response so far, they would also like to thank everybody who supported the bake sale, weather you baked or bought cakes, bread or buns. It was a huge success and €E1,050 was raised.
Another thank you goes to the students and teachers of St. Michaels’ N.S. who held a non uniform day in aid of the playground and they raised €E335, so far we have raised €E2,619.58 but still have a long way to go before we can provide the children of “the little village” with a badly needed amenity in the form of a playground.
A disco for children Under 12 will take place in the Community Hall on Sunday afternoon next from 2-5pm in aid of the Presentation Ballingarry School Indian Immersion Project.
