Grangemockler Ballyneale

Congratulations to our U 12 hurlers on wining the County End Games Final last Saturday in Semple Stadium. They beat Rockwell and Burgess earlier in the morning to reach the final. Shannon Rovers came through from the other side after beating Boherlan Dualla and Mullinahone to set up a repeat of the U 12 football End Dames County Final back in May. At half time we were a only point up 2-2 to 2-1 after having most of the play so the second half was set up for a tense finish. With 2 minutes to go we were 4 points up for Shannon Rovers to come back and draw so as the rules stated game would continue until next score for 5 minutes if there is no score winner to be decided by 45m sudden death. No score came with in the 5 minutes so the two teams set themselves for the sudden death. Shannon Rovers stepped up first and hit a wide and next up was Denise Hanrahan who struck the ball beautifully through the posts to win the match. Well done to all the players and the management team and also a word of thanks to Shannon Rovers who were very gracious in defeat it was a very hard way to loose as both teams gave it their all.
