Cashel Toastmasters

The Cashel Banner took a trip ‘thar sáile’ for the week end. Find out how it got on at the next meeting which is this Thursday night at 8pm in Gleesons , Ladyswell St, Cashel (upstairs).

As we know it’s gone to Glasgow, for the ‘Flourish’ Conference. Will it find its way home to Cashel ? Just what did it get up to at the conference? Will it make its way home on time for the Thursday meeting? Finally, just what did the remaining Cashel members do during the Cashel Arts Festival (in the absence of the aforementioned banner)? All these questions and more will be answered on the night in question.

At our last meeting we had three different speeches from Fionnuala ( her ice-breaker). Anne - our resident storyteller and Jimmy (on the subject of Charles Dickens). Well done to you all.

Mid-Tipp Hillwalkers

Last weekend we had no walks as all roads led to Upperchurch as we headed out en-masse to support the local community in their Trojan efforts to promote walking in the area. This year’s walking weekend was by common consent the best ever and offered walks varying from the lengthy Hills of Upperchurch full day walk on Saturday - which attracted many of our A standard walkers - to easier but nonetheless very enjoyable shorter rambles and nature trails. So congratulation to the people of Upperchurch on yet another brilliantly organised and wonderfully social event.

We return to the mountains on Sunday next, November 20, with the usual high level hillwalk leaving from outside Cashel firestation at 11am.
