Franciscan Gift to St. Mary’s: The Franciscan community in Clonmel has presented St. Mary’s Parish with a beautiful brass crucifix. It will be placed in the alcove over the Tabernacle on the High Altar. We thank the Friars for this generous gesture.

Area Masses: To help build up community identity and sense of Parish belonging, it would be nice if areas in the Parish would come together and have a community celebration – a Mass or liturgical service in their area. It would be an opportunity for your area to build up a community spirit and an opportunity for neighbours to get to know each other. Perhaps someone in an area or the residents association might like to become involved. If interested contact any of the priests or a Pastoral Council member.

Suggestions: If you have any suggestions or ideas as to how we could improve our Parish you might drop your ideas or comments into one of the black boxes marked envelopes at the end of the Church at the front entrance.

Corpus Christi Adoration: Pope Francis has asked the Church worldwide to join with him next Sunday, June 2nd, the Feast of Corpus Christi in an hour’s Prayer and Adoration. In Rome the Pope will be leading this hour of prayer from 4 – 5pm. Here in our Parish we will have the Hour of Adoration from 3.30pm – 4.30pm.

Graduation Ceremonies: Last Wednesday night the Loreto School celebrated their graduation ceremony. Three of the leaders of our children’s Liturgy group were graduating – Nicola Pleskach, Sally Quinlivan and Ali Browne. Nicola was Head Girl last year at the Loreto and on Wednesday night received the Student of the Year award. Saoirse Gavin, who is also a member of our Liturgy group, graduated in Cork.

Last Thursday night the Presentation Secondary celebrated their graduation night. It was an emotional and uplifting night, as the students gathered to celebrate the ending of one journey and the beginning of a new journey. It was the celebration of the end of their Secondary School experience and the beginning of their moving out into a bigger world of third level education and work. We wish them all well in their new adventure in life. Another member of our Church Liturgy group, Lauren Quigley, was part of this graduation.
