Many clubs would be delighted if they had at the end of the year a single championship at divisional level to celebrate. At the end of 2011, Mullinahone C. J. Kickham’s hadn’t one but rather five championship wins to celebrate. These wins were County wins in Intermediate Football and Minor A Hurling and divisional wins in Intermediate Football, Minor A Hurling and Senior Hurling.

The five cups on display were most impressive at the Club’s Presentation of Medals Night held in the GAA Sports Hall after Mass on Saturday last. It was great that it was possible for the younger players in our club to be able to attend this unique event. Not since 1989, has the club had as many medals to present. The medals were presented by Tipperary Senior Hurling Manager Declan Ryan. Demonstrating the esteem that the Mullinahone Club is held was the attendance of County Chairman Sean Nugent, South Board Chairman Joe Brennan and South Board na nOg Chairman Martin Cody. Tipperary Football Board were also represented by Michael Power. The invited guests were welcomed by John Croke, Chairman of Mullinahone C. J. Kickham’s. Master of Ceremonies was C.J. Kickham’s Public Relations Officer Jackie Bolger.

It is certainly a cause of pride for our club that after two years of splendid service as county captain by Eoin Kelly that the county has gone back to another Mullinahone man to follow in his footsteps. Thank you Eoin and good luck to Paul. Patron of the Mullinahone Club, Fr. John McGrath P.P. also spoke a few well chosen words. The players who were receiving medals were presented by the captains of their teams Gary Cronin, James Connolly and A.J. Cronin. Gary Cronin, the captain of the minor hurling team also received Intermediate Football and Senior Hurling medals bringing his total to five. Gary on behalf of his colleagues made a presentation to their Manager Johnny Kennedy, who had looked after the group since their pre under 12 days. The winning of that county title will always remain a proud memory for those who were privileged to see it.
