Monthly meeting on next Tuesday, April 24 in the NICC starting at 8.30pm sharp. Also on the same night is a talk on health issues such as blood pressure and diabetes which can be tested on the night. All are welcome. The women’s group are just back from their trip to Paris over the Easter break. Springtime in Paris, a well earned break for everyone involved.


Many thanks to tennis coach Paschal Whelan and his helpers Cian and Aidan for coaching the children during our Easter Camp last week. Thanks also to those who helped out with supervision.


The walking group are getting involved in the Fiona Power Fun Run/ Walk fundraiser in Rockwell College, in aid of local girl Fiona Power whose family, friends have come together to fundraise to finance a trip to America for life saving treatment. So hope to see you all there next Sunday, April 22. Registration starts at 1.30pm.

TRAINING: Hurling continues every Saturday in the GAA field from 11am-12.15pm for 7-16yr old. The juvenile club and parents would like to thank the intermediate hurlers who provide the coaching every Saturday. Also U8/U10 & U12’s football training continues every Monday evening 7pm to 8pm up in the GAA field.

U12F Well done to our U12F team who beat Sean Treacys last Monday evening 9 April in Kilcommon. Well done to all the players especially Liam Fitzpatrick and Tom Marnane who had a good game in the forwards, Kyle Burke in midfield, Diarmuid English in the backs and Diarmuid O’Brien in goal.

U12B Hark luck to our U12 B team who were beaten by just one goal last Monday evening in Kilcommon against Sean Treacys. Well done to all the players who are really starting to play as a team. Final score 3-1 to 4-1.

Many thanks to Geraldine Cleary who organised a bus on the night and thanks also to the mentors and parents who came out to support these two young teams, despite the inclement weather.

U16 B Well done to our players who a good win over Cappawhite in New Inn last Monday 9 April. Well done to all the players.

U14B Hard luck to our players who lost to Cappawhite last Thursday 12 April. Final score 1-3 to 2-10. Well done to Mark Ryan who played a blinder in goal and to all the players especially scorers: Walter Ryan 0-1, Colm Moloney 0-1, Conor Walsh 0-1, Ciaran McKenna 1-0.


The girls have played 2 matches and lost to Cahir and Boherlahan. They play Ballingarry away, time and date to be decided.

U16’s: Our under 16 girls played Cashel last Thursday evening 12 April in Golden. The halftime score was New Inn 1-3 to Cashel’s 2-2. Unfortunately in the second half New Inn struggled badly seeing Cashel dominate. Aoife Cross was a huge loss in the backs and Cashel went on to score 4-01 to New Inn’s 0-1. Full time score Cashel 6-3 New Inn 1-4. Scorers: Alannah Moore, Aoife O’Donnell and Leah Price. A great effort from all the girls.

U12’s: New Inn U12 girls recently took part in 3 Blitzes organised by the County Board in the Ragg and the club also hosted a blitz in New Inn. The girls acquitted themselves very well in all their games and showed continual improvement in their skills. This is a young team with most of the girls underage next year. The girls played against teams from Thurles, Templemore, Kiladangan, Carrick-on-suir, Holycross, Clonoulty Knockavilla and Cahir. Well done to all the girls that participated in the Blitzes.

Training continues in New inn each Wednesday evening at 7.15pm.


Well done to Leah Price (A) and Aoife O’Donnell(B) on playing at the Co u14 Eileen Carmody Memorial All Ireland Blitz in Rathkeale last Sunday 14 April, hosted by Limerick Co. Board. The A team qualified for the final against Galway and won the All Ireland A final. The B team met Dublin in the Plate final, this was a close game but the Tipp girls persisted and went on to win the Plate. Great credit to all the girls on the panel and also to the mentors. Their next outing is the Ennis Blitz in Ennis on Monday 7th May.
