Ardfinnan Tidy Towns
Ardfinnan Tidy Towns would like to thank Sap nurseries for their gift of trees which are much appreciated. We are also looking for volunteers to help us restore an old boat we have acquired and need a helping hand to clean, repair and paint if anyone is interested.
We are also looking for people to help out during our clean up week every evenings 7- 9 pm from Monday 23 to Friday 27 - if anyone wants to give a hand and help out why not join us for some light work and also help out your community.
We are also doing work on Saturday 28 from around 11am till lunchtime if people want to help out we will meet outside the Community Centre. We will meet every evening outside our local community centre at 7pm, please bring a shovel, scrubs, etc. We would once again like to thank all the helpers that came out over the last few weeks. Ardfinnan people have always been very proud of our village and this is reflected almost everywhere as the village is looking great as a result, we understand not everyone is able to come out and help around the community so why not arrange one or two evenings with a few neighbours and do a little around your own area. Tidy towns are there for any help or advice you need and are only too happy to help keep the community spirit alive in Ardfinnan. Once again keep up the great work.

The Seniors played Cahir in Clogheen last Sunday. This was a well contested game with very little between the sides. The turning point came when Cahir were awarded a somewhat lucky goal when the umpire ruled that the ball was carried over the goal line when it looked like we had cleared the ball. Cahir ran out winners on the score of 1-10 to 0-10. We now face Carrick Swan in the next round of the Championship and hopefully with this game under our belt, it will bring us on.
The Minors played Killenaule in Cahir on Sunday evening last and we were beaten by a stronger team on the night. Credit to the Ardfinnan players who fought hard to end.
Our Under 16s had a good win on Thursday night last over Carrick Swan on a score line of 4-10 to 1-9.
Our Under 10s played in a Blitz in Ardfinnan on Saturday morning last and a great morning of football was had by all. We played three games beating Ballyporeen and Stradbally and going down to a strong Kilrossanty side. The Club would like to thank all the parents who helped out with refreshments afterwards and the Under 10s will train next Saturday at 11 in the New Field.
The Under 6 player of the week is Scott Lonergan.
