Looking for something to keep the children occupied during the holidays, then why not come along to the Children’s Craft classes being held in Burncourt Community Hall on August 10, 11 and 12. The classes will be held from 10am to 12noon each day with all materials supplied at €10 per day . If you are interested please contact Brigid on 087/2492714.

A much needed and fine extension has been added to Burncourt National School over the past number of months and it must be emphasised without any funding from the Department of Education and Science. Also the entrance and pathways have been revamped, giving the school a very welcoming appearance. To finish the cost of the building project, there will be a fundraising drive in the near future. If you are the parents of the present pupils in the school, went to school there in the past or just willing to support this essential focal point in the community ,your generosity would be much appreciated.

A huge congratulations to Maura and Michael Fox who celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary last weekend. Every good wish to this wonderful couple on reaching a half a century of life together. Wishing you many more years of health and happiness together.

Thanks to all who contributed to last weekend’s Church Gate Collection for the local Meals on Wheels group. The sum of €275.86 was raised. Also a huge thank you to the volunteers who keep the service in operation.
