Annual Festival – Volunteers Needed.
Burncourt Community Council will host its Annual Festival on the weekend of July 21. The running of the festival takes a lot of energy and manpower and an input of extra energy, ideas and enthusiasm whether it comes from individuals or local clubs would be appreciated by the members of the Community Council. People may have heard of the idea “Volunteer for a While” and this is what you are being asked to do so that this annual festival can remain alive. A Festival Meeting will be held on Friday, June 8 at 8.30 in the Community Hall. Please come along, after all “Your Community Needs You”
“Style in the Valley”
Ladies put the date June 17 in your diary for a day of fashion and style in Kilcoran Lodge Hotel from 2 to 5pm. ”Style in the Valley2 being organised by members of Burncourt Community Council and an team of enthusiastic volunteers will feature Beauty, Hair and Holistic Therapists, an Image Consultant and all types of fashion from Dresses, Bags, Jewellery and Shoe Boutiques. Admission is €10. Tickets will be available shortly. Stands are practically booked out to date, however if there are any people in the locality with beauty or holistic products, please contact 087/2887615.
The recent talk and slide show on Ballysheehan Graveyard given by Rose Cleary was very well attended and proved a very informative and sociable evening in the community hall. The sum of just over €400 was raised which will be used to keep the Defibrillator unit upgraded. A further night of training in the use of the Defibrillator will be held in the near future.
The Ballyporeen/Burncourt Hospice Committees will make a cheque presentation to South Tipperary Hospice in Casey’s Bar, Ballyporeen on Friday, May, 18 at 9.30pm.
Collection for Autism Association.
The recent Church gate collection for the Autism Association raised €189.63.
First Holy Communion.
The Sacrament of First Holy Communion for the children of Burncourt National School will be celebrated on Sunday, June 27.
Well Done to Burncourt Celtic’s U13 on their win over Moyglass in the Tipperary Cup Final, their first schoolboy soccer final. It’s great to see such enthusiasm in this young team and well done to their mentors and trainers.
Make Up Lesson
Ladies have you ever wanted to get that flawless finish or those dark smokey eyes but it just doesn’t seem to work? Well now is your chance to make use of all that make-up that you’ve bought, with a hands on workshop to learn correct techniques for applying make-up.
Class will be presented by fully qualified beauty teacher Niamh Walshe (C&G 1106 Advanced Teaching Dip) of Chic Beauty Salon Kilworth, in Burncourt Community Hall on Friday 11th May @ 7:30pm. (Cost €15)
