It is that time of the year again and Ardfinnan tidy towns are very busy getting flowers and plants ready for the village. Tidy towns would also like to hear of any ideas that you may have for your area (eg, flowerbeds, railing, walls painted etc). Tidy towns would also ask that we all lend a hand at keeping our litter awareness campaign alive. The committee would also like to thank the kids of Ardfinnan national school for the very creative posters they designed for the campaign, these posters are on show in the windows of the local community centre.

Ardfinnan tidy towns would like to say very well done to Ardfinnan NS in their recent success in winning the green flag award. This award is the result of a lot of time and hard work put in by the kids, teachers and staff and is a great example how everyone working together can help make a difference.

Senior: The Seniors had a break from the championship this weekend. The next few weeks will be busy for the seniors as they face Kilsheelan on Sunday, April 19, Commercials on Friday 24 and Moyle Rovers on Monday 27.

Junior: Training continues on Monday and Friday nights. The South championship is expected to start in June.

Minor: The Minors fixture against Carrick Swan was postponed this weekend.

Under 16: The Under 16s had a very good win against Kilsheelan last week. We went in at half time 3 points each despite playing with the strong wind in the first half and things did not look promising. However our lads performed brilliantly in the second half to win 2-8 to 6 points in the finish. Our next game is against Swan in Carrick on Thursday next.

Under 14: We defeated Kilsheelan by 4-6 to 1-3 in Kilsheelan last week in the Peil competition. We then played Commercials in Cahir on Saturday in the semi final. We performed very well for the majority of the game but just faded in the final quarter and lost 2-14 to 2-6 in the end. In the championship we play FR Sheehys/Ballylooby on Monday next/Under 12:

The premier Go Games started last week and we had mixed fortunes for our teams. In Group 2 we had a great performance in Fethard to win by a goal. In group 3 despite a good performance we were defeated by a good Fr Sheehys team. This Friday both our teams have home games with the group 2 team playing Clonmel Og at 6 and the Group 3 team playing Moyle Rovers at 7.

Under 10: We host a 4 team Blitz on Saturday, this is a great opportunity of game time for these players.

Under 6 and 8: Training begins on Saturday next at 10AM in the field.

Lotto: The Lotto numbers for Monday, March 28, were 3, 20, 22 and 27. There was no winner and Summer Murphy matched 3 numbers winning E150. Next weeks jackpot is E7000.
