Kilsheelan Kilcash

Well done to Kilsheelan man Diarmuid Vaughan, winner of the 2011 AIMS Best Actor Award, who recently played the role of a lifetime as Dr. Henry Jekyll in the White Memorial Theatre.

Our local environment and surrounds are always complimented thanks in no small part to our active Tidy Towns group. I would like to say Tidy Towns Community for really everyone takes pride in their community and therefore it should be a community effort not just from a few. There is something everybody can do. No age limit and no skills are required, anyone can water a plant, use a sweeping brush, bend and pick up litter, perhaps do something to raise much needed funds and there are no time restrictions. If Monday nights 7pm to 8pm is not suitable, pick a time to suit yourself and a buddy to do what you feel you can. Ask Tommy, our chairperson, or Ann if necessary. Adopt a flower bed near your home to water and weed is one idea. If you have IT skills, interested in working with a group Spring/Summer evenings, project management, environmental background or an interest in heritage, Tidy Towns will love you. Last year Kilsheelan secured a well deserved Bronze Medal. For info 0872158333
