Our Christmas disco, on Friday December 21, was very well attended and all had a most enjoyable night. We thank all those who have helped out at our discos throughout 2012 ensuring that all those who regularly attend enjoy the experience. We look forward to seeing you all again for the year ahead.
The numbers drawn in the December 20th juvenile lotto were 5, 22, 23 and 26. There was no winner of our €3,250 jackpot prize and one player matched three numbers to win €200 - Paul and Mary 12 Ormonde Crescent. We also had five winners of €30 Christmas Shopping Vouchers. Carrick Swan Club thanks all those who continue to play our lotto and remind those who might like to join that weekly entry is €2 and this can be paid to any committee member, or to any of our lotto promoters who will call to collect each week.
December 27th’s jackpot prize is €3,500. Your continued support helps us provide for all our juvenile players and is very much appreciated by all in our club. The results for the December 27th draw are now available on our website, on our facebook page and on the door of our clubhouses. They will also be printed in next week’s notes.
Carrick Swan GAA had their annual Christmas party and awards night on Friday last in O Ceallachain’s Bar where the Junior hurlers received their County League medals. A great night was had by all in attendance. We thank our MC on the night Sean McDonnell, our President Johnny Flynn and our Chairman Jim Kennedy who presented medals and awards. We also congratulate Gerry Walsh on his award for been a member of the Intermediate All Ireland winning Tipperary team and Tommy O’Neill on his lifetime achievement award.
We wish one of our clubs senior players, Aaron Walsh a speedy recovery having undergone a hip procedure recently. Aaron excelled at half back with our senior hurlers in 2012 and we look forward to seeing Aaron back playing as early as February.
Carrick Swan GAA club extends its sympathy to the family of the late Jean Ryan, O’Mahoney Avenue, who died recently. Jean was a most loyal and life-long supporter of our club, and her husband Pat a most prominent player and mentor in his younger days. Their family members also play and support our club in many ways and we extend our deepest sympathy to them at this time. Officers and players from our club provided a fitting guard of honour at the removal of Jean’s remains.
We also extend our sympathy to the family of Mary Power, Ballyknob, who died recently. Many of her family members are connected with our club and we sympathise with them on their sad loss.
We remind those interested that you can visit our website www.carrickswan.gaa.ie to keep up to date on club news and activities or e-mail us at firstname.lastname@example.org with any news items or photographs of interest. You can also follow us on Facebook.
