Skeheenarinky Students’ Quiz Success
At the County Tipperary Parents’ Council Primary Schools’ Quiz held in the Park Hotel in Clonmel on Sunday last, Skeheenarinky National School quiz team progressed to the next round - the Munster Quiz. What a wonderful achievement for the team which consisted of Rebecca Murphy, Julie Landers, and Pat Landers. Jessica King was also on the team but was unable to make it on the day. Parents and teachers and pupils must be glowing with pride. What a great honour the team brings to the school. Congratulations to all.

School Boys & Girls Soccer:
Burncourt Celtic U/13 Boys won TSDL League and are now in the Final of the Cup, well done to Management and players. The U/12 Girls played their semi-final Cup game last Sunday afternoon in Burncourt against Clerihan, a very exciting game with the Burncourt Girls winning on penalties after they drew ‘seven all’ on full time. Three Skeheenarinky girls are on the under 12 team: Mary Barrett, Chloe Treacy McLoughlin and Shannon Brennan.
The 12th National Student Media Awards took place on April 26 at Ballsbridge Hotel, Dublin. And there, having been nominated by Limerick University for Web Designer of the Year was our own Kieran Caplice. Kieran is son of Anthony and Kay Caplice of Cahergal who must be bursting with pride at Kieran’s nomination. This is the equivalent of the Oscars for Irish University Students, and Kieran’s design and creation of the An Focal website for the Student Union Magazine as well as the website for ULFM Student Radio Station made him a ‘worthy nominee’. It’s difficult to comprehend how Kieran, a First Year Electronic and Computer Engineering student, has reached such lofty heights in web design at such a young age. A self-taught web-designer - this success must surely open many doors for him in future years. While the final vote favoured Dublin University, we say “Winner all the way, Kieran!”
