Tractor & Vintage Car Run

The Tractor and Vintage Car Run, which took place on Sunday last in Ballingarry as a Fund-Raiser for our Tidy Towns effort was a success beyond all our expectations. Well done to all involved. A big thank you to Ballingarry GAA Club for use of their field, without which we would have been in trouble, because of the huge number of vehicles which showed up. Thanks also to Ballingarry Civil Defence for the great job they did on the day, by helping to keep everyone safe on the day.

Best of luck to Aoibhe O’Shea who lines out with the Tipperary U/14 Ladies Footballers against Waterford next Saturday in the Munster final.”

Ballingarry Juvenile Gaa would like to thank The Farmer’s Hunt for their very generous donation of €500 which will come in very useful for us. We would also like to wish all the children making their First Holy Communion this Sat the best of luck. There will be no training this Sat for u6 and u8s. Our u8s travelled to Thurles Sarsfields on Saturday last to take part in a County Blitz. U9 1/2’s competed in football for the Community Games where they had a great win over Powerstown in Monroe. Our u12 Maroon team had a great win over Mullinahone Thursday evening last and are now after qualifying for the semi finals in their championship. Best of luck to them. All u12s are due to play a challenge match against Moyle Rovers in Ballingarry this Wed evening at 7.00pm. Our u14s had a break this week in their football championship but are training hard for their upcoming games. Our u16s defeated Ballyneale last Friday evening in Ballyneale 4-7 to 2-9 in a hard fought game. Ballingarry got off to a great start and Ballyneale backs were under a lot of pressure and with points and goals flying in it seemed it was going to be easy for the lads but Ballyneale fought back and got a few points and then a goal which brought them back within 5 points at half time. The second half was more even and Ballyneale to give them their credit had a much better second half. Ballingarry defended well though and came out with a 4 point win in the end. Well done lads. This qualifies them for the semi finals. Don’t forget to keep collecting the Lucozade Sport bottle caps and drop them into our local schools or shops in the designated buckets. Contact Miriam Walton on 086-2612200 if you require anything from the GAA shop.
