Ballyporeen Handball Club under 14 year old boys were runners up in the All-Ireland Feile na nGael Division 1 Handball contest, which was hosted in City West sports campus in Dublin on Thursday and Friday, July 5 and 6. The team of five boys, including local lad James Conway, competed in the Division 1 40/20 handball tournament and were up against stiff competition including teams from Galway, Tyrone and Waterford. Their success on the national platform is a great tribute to the team trainers, Eddie Corbett and Michael English.

Well done to Bally lads Jason English, Adrian English and Tommy Breedy and to Burncourt’s representative James Conway and not forgetting the honorary ‘Bally lad’, Jack Coughlan from outside Mitchelstown who was happy to wear the Tipp jersey in order to bring home the silverware.
