We congratulate Bill and David on their part in Tipperary’s victory in the Minor Football Semi Final last week in Cork. Another incredible performance now sees the team reach a second Munster final in a row. Great to see our own Carol Gibbs and Micheal Martin, leader of Fianna Fail sitting beside each other and chatting throughout the match, despite being on opposite sides. Micheal’s son lined out in the Cork goal and no doubt Carol used the opportunity to give valued advice to Micheal on all matters relating to politics. The U/12 panel of players travelled to the game, sporting their Club colours, to lend their support.
The U/8 page is now updated on the website so log in for further information.
Kilcash NS played Dualla in the Cumann na mBunscoil hurling competition. Conditions were difficult, however, Jack O’Gorman got Kilcash off to a good start with a well taken goal. Sean Martin was causing problems for Dualla, and he scored four points in the first half, two from frees. The Kilcash defence of Cathal Kelly, Billy Murphy, and goalkeeper Aaron Dempsey and John O’Dwyer in midfield kept Dualla scoreless in the first half. Dualla had two goals in quick succession after the interval. Sean Martin responded with 2-1 from play. John O’Dwyer drove forward from midfield and scored a goal as Sean Martin added 1-1. Emmet Butler had the final say when he flicked a low shot to the net. Andrew Butler, Jack O’Loughlin and Tommy Mullins also played their part in this victory. The final score was Kilcash NS 6-6, Dualla NS 3-0.
