Public Meeting

Deputy Mattie McGrath will hold a public meeting in relation to the government’s proposed changes to sick pay arrangements, on Friday, October 12, at 8pm in Cahir House Hotel.

Guest speakers include Mark Fielding, Chief Executive ISME (Irish Small Medium Enterprises Association) and Senator Mary Ann O’Brien, entrepreneur and Chairperson Lily O’Brien’s Chocolates.

Halloween Workshop

The Craft Granary invite all children to a Halloween themed workshop. This is for children aged five to 12 years. All children are invited to dress up!

The workshop takes place on October 31.

Association meeting

The guest speaker at our monthly meeting, on Wednesday, October 3, held in the Catherine McAuley Room, was Professor John Ryan. Professor Ryan gave a very interesting talk of his experience while living and working in Syria.

Syria is a country in Western Asia, bordering Lebanon and the Mediterranean Sea to the West, Turkey to the north, Iraq to the east, Jordan to the south. May we thank John for a lively and in depth lecture.

Results of the 25 Card Game held at the Catherine McAuley Room, on Friday, October 5: 1st with 10 Games, Leisha Shine, Teresa Prendergast. 2nd with 9 Games, Peg Reidy, Agnes Hyland. Tom McGrath, Tom O’Mahony.

Best wishes to Very Rev. Sean O’Dwyer who retired recently as Parish Priest of St. Mary’s Parish, Cahir. We wish you a restful retirement. Many thanks for all your help and considerations over the past years.


We wish Very Rev. Gerard Langford a hearty welcome to St. Mary’s Parish, who is taking over the role of Parish Priest from Very Rev. Sean O’Dwyer.

Community Lotto

There was no jackpot winner of the draw that took place on Wednesday, October 3, in Cahir Day Care Centre. The numbers drawn were 5, 22, 25 and 31. The draw was witnessed by Tommy Morrissey. There was one match three winner who took home €200 and that was Alison Lonergan, Ballydrehid, Cahir. The next draw took place on Wednesday, October 10, at 12 noon in Cahir Day Care Centre. The jackpot will then be €3,000. Tickets are available in local shops and also at the Enterprise Centre.

Colaiste classes
