Kiss me Kate

The High School and Presentation Secondary School, Clonmel will present Kiss me Kate as their annual school show in the White Memorial Theatre, Clonmel from Monday-Thursday, October 21-24.

Presentation Celebrations

A Mass of Thanksgiving to celebrate the opening of the Presentation Sisters Bicentenary Year will take place on Friday, October 4 at St.Mary’s Church, Irishtown, Clonmel at 1pm.

Horticultural Society

The next meeting will be held at 8pm on Wednesday, October 2 at the Clonmel Park Hotel. The guest speaker is Seamus O’Brien, the gifted Head Gardener of Kilmacurragh Botanic Gardens, Co. Wicklow. Inspired by intrepid plant hunters of the past, Seamus has made expeditions to the Far East, Australia and New Zealand, following in their routes as outlined in hand-drawn maps and their diaries. This should be a fascinating and inspiring lecture. All are very welcome.

Clonmel Town Schoolboys soccer

The U-12 B team had a good win over Gortnahoe at the weekend. Town had a few chances in the first half to take the lead but could have gone behind only for a great save from Conor Grant. Town went ahead in the second half with a superb free kick from Ciaran Ryan. Gortnahoe equalised with a great free kick of their own. However man of the match Michael O’Donnell restored Town’s lead with a screamer and Ciaran Ryan made it 3-1 with another great long-range free kick. Clonmel Town are starting a fun soccer session for children born in 2008 and 2009. This will be held in the Complex hall between 10-11am each Sunday morning, commencing September 29.

GIY Clonmel

The next meeting of GIY (Grow Your Own) is on this Thursday, September 26 at 7pm in Clonmel Library. Maree Mockler will give a talk on ‘Drying Garden Produce and Other Peculiar Delights’, a fascinating insight on how to preserve garden produce using a modern method of an age-old technique of drying.

Dance auditions for show

St. Mary’s Choral Society will be holding open dance auditions for a fundraising show entitled Dancing Thru the Musicals, devised and choreographed by Gillian Hewitt-Fitzgerald. The auditions will be held on Sunday, October 6 at the White Memorial Theatre, Clonmel. Girls and boys aged 7 to 16 are welcome to come along. Audition times are 7–10 years (10am–12 noon) and 11–16 years (12.30–2.30pm). All types of dancers are welcome.


The next meeting is on this Thursday, September 26 at 8pm in Raheen House, Clonmel. It’s hoped that all members will be present and everyone looks forward to meeting even more new faces.
