The Drangan branch of the Slievenamon Vintage Tractor Club held a very successful Charity Run on June 10. The event was blessed with brilliant sunshine on the day. The tractors assembled in Slattery’s field near the village (by kind permission).

Upwards of 40 tractors were on display and viewed by a big crowd before the group set off on their journey at 1 o’clock through some very scenic countryside of Ballingarry, Gortnahoe, Ballysloe, Glengoole, Ballynonty, Killenaule and finished in Ballylusky. Proceeds from the run were presented to two worthy causes, Saint Anthony’s Unit for care for the older person in Clonmel received €600 and the Alzheimer Society of Ireland was given €130. The organisers would like to thank Anthony Slattery for the use of his field and also Colm Duggan for his co-operation.

Thanks to Sinead Brennan, Glengoole and Kathleen Guinan, Ballylusky for their hospitality on the day. To P.J. Moloney, Willie Cuddihy and Tom O’Mahoney who did a wonderful job as stewards on the route. A big thank you to the ladies who provided the much appreciated food, may your given hands never tire. Also a special thanks to the patrons that supported the event.
