The Fionn Mac Cumhaill Players are planning a comedy at the end of the summer to cheer the people up in these depressing times. The comedy ‘Sex please we’re sixTy’ tells of a small bed and breakfast owner in her mid 50’s - her next door neighbour who is over 70 ‘Bud the stud’ ( he considers himself to be the reason so many ladies over 50 visit the B&B - and a local chemist who is trying out a new drug for women of a certain age - three menopausal ladies looking for love - definitely a recipe for disaster). The group plan to stage this in August or September all going well - so watch out for more details.

The new committee of Cloneen Sports and Social Club will relaunch the bar and hall on July 21 with a 70’s and 80’s disco (over 18’s). This is a fundraiser for works in progress to hall. Tickets for this event will be E10 and are on sale now from any of the members. We hope you will all support. We have also other fund raising ideas and hopefully the hall will be a hive of activity very shortly. The squash club will shortly be up and running. Booking of hall will be subject to certain fees and is as always available for kinds all events. We apologise for any inconvenience caused in closing bar for short time but hopefully all will be up and running shortly.

The above club made up of members from Cloneen, Mullinahone, Drangan, Fethard and surrounding areas of Clonmel will hold their first One Day Event in the beautiful grounds of Grove in Fethard on July 29. This will be sponsored by TRI Equestrian and is a qualifier for the nationals. The Green Horse competition and young horse will be sponsored by local sponsors. For those of you who are not familiar with one day events they consist of dressage in morning followed by showjumping and the third part of the event is cross country which is probably what everyone goes to see. Many local riders will be taking part so if you would like a nice day out come along. We are also looking for volunteers for fence stewards and other jobs so if anyone would like to donate their Sunday let me know 086-0834208
