MISSION
The three-week Ceili Mission will finish this Sunday. There will be Mission Mass in Ballygiblin and Kilacluig Churches Thursday night at 7.30pm. Sunday, November 25, is the Feast of St. Fanahan, the local saint. It is fitting that the Mission Mass will conclude on Sunday night coinciding with the local Feast Day.
BALLYGIBLIN GAA
Ballygiblin Hurling club have a fundraiser this Saturday night in the Firgrove Hotel 8pm. It is a comedy play called ‘The Pull’. This is a lively comedy suitable for all ages.
SPECIAL FRIENDS
Nessa Cotter, fashion editor for Hi Magazine and Louise McCall, makeup artist, will host a night of makeup and style in the Firgrove Hotel, Mitchelstown, this Thursday, November 22, at 8pm. Tickets at Bright Sparks. Proceeds to local charity – Special Friends.
THE LATE BRIDGET (BEA) O’SULLIVAN
The death occurred on November 8 of Bridget (Bea) O’Sullivan (Nee Burke), peacefully at her residence Thomas St, Mitchelstown. The late Bea, as she was best known, was predeceased by her husband Matt. They ran a successful business for many years. A popular member of the local community, there was a very large and represented attendance at the Parish Church for her requiem mass and burial. Interment took place to the adjoining cemetery. To her sons Andrew, Michael, Patrick, daughters Dympna, Catherine, Claire, Margaret, Joan, daughters in law, sons in law, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends we tender our sincere sympathy.
THE LATE THOMAS O’SHEA
The death took place at Cork University Hospital on November 8 of Thomas (Bobsy) O’Shea, 6 Carrigroe, Mitchelstown. The late Thomas had been in ill health for some years. There was a large and represented attendance at the removal on Friday evening from O’Sullivan’s Funeral Home, Kilbehenny, to Mitchelstown Parish Church and also at the Requiem Mass and burial on Saturday. Interment took place to the adjoining cemetery. To his wife Kathleen (nee Martin), daughters Karen, Deirdre and Lisa, son Thomas, grandchildren Daire and Anna, brothers, sisters, brothers in law, sisters in law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends we tender our sincere sympathy.
THE LATE PATRICK (PATSY) COLLINS
The death occurred on Wednesday, November 7, of Patrick (Patsy) Collins, late of Ballynoe, Kildorrery. A popular member of the local community he was a noted card player up to a couple of years ago. There was a large attendance at the removal from Hannon’s Funeral Home, Kildorrery, on Thursday night to the local St. Bartholomew’s Church and also at the Requiem Mass and burial on Friday. Interment took place to the local cemetery. To his family and friends we tender our sincere sympathy.
COFFEE MORNING
Mitchelstown Active Retirement Group will host a coffee morning in the Ozanam Centre, Thursday, November 29, from 10am to 1pm, in aid of COPE sensory gardens project.
