Clonmel World Music

Clonmel World Music proudly presents:

Petunia and The Vipers (Canada) on Tuesday 5th February at 9pm, in Raheen House Hotel, Clonmel.

Clonmel World Music is pleased to be returning for its 4th year of gigs in Raheen House Hotel Clonmel. The first gig of 2013 is a Canadian band called Petunia and the Vipers. It is the first ever Irish gig for this critically acclaimed 5-piece band. They are on a short tour after a headlining appearance in front of 900 people at the famous Celtic Connections in Glasgow.

The band play elements of Rockabilly, Honky Tonk, Western Swing, Jazz and Country Blues, all under the loose umbrella of Americana. Petunia is a very charismatic frontman, in the tradition of a singing cowboy who sings, plays guitar and Kazoo and he is also a great yodeler. In his native Canada, he is widely regarded as “a legend in the making”. His singing ranges from the most delicate you’ve ever heard to the most powerful, often within a single song.

He is joined by the veteran Jimmy Roy on Lapsteel, Steve Nikleva on Electric Guitars who both played with the famous Hillbilly Rockabilly band Ray Condo & The Ricochets. They are also joined by Marc L’Esperence on drums and harmony vocals and Patrick Metzger on Upright Bass.

Tickets are only €15 each and are now on sale in Premier Music Store Clonmel, on (052)6129811, from Gerry on (086)3389619, or Martha on (087)9107201. Don’t delay and get your tickets soon for this gig !! Check out Clonmel World Music on Facebook to see clips of this great band.

Clonmel World Music has some great bands confirmed for 2013 and is proud to bring such top quality music to Clonmel, which is made possible by the tremendous support it gets from the people of Clonmel and surrounding areas, who attend the gigs in great numbers.

Clonmel & District Horticultural Society

Tidy Towns

Clonmel Tidy Towns Committee welcomes the introduction of undercover surveillance cameras to Clonmel. This will result in the public becoming wary and think twice before they commit an offence. We seem as a nation and as a people to be incapable of taking responsibility for our own actions i.e. littering, dumping and citizens who take their dogs for a walk and neglect to bring a pooper scooper with them.

We understand the cameras will identify offenders by day or by night, this is most welcome.

Black Terrier Dog Found
