Our u16 footballers got the week off to a good start with a fine victory over neighbours Ballingarry. After a slow start we were behind early on but the switch of James Doyle to midfeld changed the match and we ran out easy winners in the end. The highlight of the game was a tremendous goal by Domnic Blake which would surleybe a contender for goal of the year in any grade. Best on the day was P Hannigan, D Fogarty, O McCormack, J Doyle, D Blake, L Trimble and P Feehan.

Our minor footballers came from 7pts down to snatch a great victory over St Pats in a rip roaring match. We didn’t look like winners for long stretches of this match but a tremendous finish saw us ahead at the final whistle. A highlight of the match was the late points from Jamie O Connor with the left peg. best ion the day was N Murphy, J Yates, J Feehan, G Henry, J O Connor and man of the match T Keavney.

Our Senior hurlers got their campaign off to the best possible start with a comprehensive win over arch rivals Swan. The match was close enough for the first 20 minutes but we clicked into gear before half time to put this game to bed. It was refreshing to see the team play a nice straight forward type of game and our striking was top class. Although stiffer tests lay ahead we are certainly going in the right direction. One the the highlights of this game was the marksmanship of Festy who ended with a tally of 2-7 from play and even that wasn’t enough to earn the man of the match award. Best on the night were M O Donnell, D Ryan, P Codd, Festy, D Fanning, Bubbles and man of the match Cathal Bergin. We play Davins next Week, Check fixtures for arrangements.
