The Junior Football team recorded their first victory with a comprehensive win over Fr Sheehys. This week’s Golden Goal was scored in the 13th minute in the Waterford V Clare game. Next week’s competition will be based on the eagerly awaited Tipperary V Cork clash. Congratulations to Brian Mc Guire who was the lucky winner of €E500, in the new County Draw. Thanks to all of you who supported the draw again this year.

The Sports Prediction is updated to include the French open tennis. It is now half way through the competition and Paudie O’Keeffe is in pole position with a three point advantage over the chasing pack. For upcoming matches check fixtures.

This Thursday evening (21st) our historic walk of Templeteney, Ballyboe and Killurney will take place. This should be of particular interest to all those living in the area and will commence from Killurney Hall at 7.15pm. It will be at a leisurely pace and should take two hours approx. A cuppa will be provided in the Hall on return. We look forward to seeing your there.

We were favoured with a lovely evening on Friday, June 1, for the annual walk. An excellent turnout enjoyed the pleasant trek through the local forest with many of the young people completing the course in record time, while the adults taking a more leisurely stroll, enjoyed the peace and solitude of the lovely environment. The event raised almost €E2,000 for Community Centre funds and we offer a very sincere thanks to all who supported. A special word of thanks goes to the pupils, parents and staff of Kilcash N.S. for their loyal support. Without their effort the walk would not be the success it was. Well done to all involved. The draw for sponsors took place last week and resulted as follows: 1st prize €40: Reuben Darcy, 5 Sunnyside, Ballypatrick, (Card No: 6 - Maya and Sean Darcy), 2nd: €30: Ciaran O’Reilly, Graigue (Card No: 16 - Ann O’Reilly) and 3rd €20: Mylo Walsh 25 Cois Coille, Kilcash (Card No: 11 - Gwen & Niamh Flatley).

The Club Barbecue, which was cancelled on Saturday evening, will take place on this Friday evening (June 22). Tickets, which are available from all committee members, should be confirmed as soon as possible please.
