New Inn

St. Patrick’s Day festivities continued in New Inn Community Hall on Friday night when Knockgraffon Open Coursing Club, in conjunction with New Inn Youth Club, held a party for their younger members. This event was organised to acknowledge the young people who turned up in great numbers, and in all weathers, to Knockgraffon Open Coursing events during the past season and to thank them for their involvement. Over 80 young people from New Inn, Knockgraffon and surrounding areas attended. They really enjoyed a great night’s entertainment of dancing and singing. Perhaps the highlight of the night was when long-time supporter Deputy Mattie McGrath took to the stage for a rendition of “Simply the Best”. There was also face-painting for the younger ones and energy levels were kept high with a good supply of sweets and minerals. Many thanks to the Youth Club leaders and Coursing Club parents and committee members who helped out on the night. Given the wonderful party atmosphere and the many positive comments this might become an annual event. Looking forward to next year already!
