Club Draw - This Saturday night the January and February club draws will be held in the McGrath Centre. The club draw is a vital part of our annual fundraising and we have a prize fund of over €1,300 every month. We are very grateful to all our supporters over the years and we would encourage anybody with an interest in Gaelic games in the parish to consider joining the club draw. It’s only €7 a month to join and the top prize each month is €600.

Football - Last Sunday our under 21 footballers made it two wins from two after a fine win over Éire Óg. A strong opening half into the wind was the foundation for this victory and we have two more games in the league section before the semi finals. On Sunday afternoon in Cahir our senior footballers were defeated by the home team in Round 1 of the county football league.

Gaeltacht Scholarships - Any 2nd year, 5th year or transition year student interested in a Gaeltacht Scholarship should contact Club Secretary, Brian Shiels, immediately for an application form. Closing date is February 28.

Membership - Adult membership €30, juvenile, student and under 21 rate €15. It is now a matter of urgency that all players are fully paid up.

West Convention - At the West Board adjourned convention it was agreed that Galtee Rovers would combine with Éire Óg in minor hurling and football for 2013. The knock-out senior football championship will feature a semi-final meeting of Galtee Rovers and Aherlow/Lattin, while the intermediate hurling semi will pit us against our former senior team mates, Sean Treacy’s.

Tankerstown National School is currently building up an archive of photographs linked to both Tankerstown and Ardane schools. Class groups, school groups, Holy Communion and Confirmation photos all welcome. If you have any photos at home we would be most grateful if you dropped them in to the school office in a clearly marked envelope so that we can make copies of them. All originals will be returned in the coming weeks.
