Kilsheelan Kilcash

Club AGM Tuesday, February 26. Clubhouse 8pm. The year will be reviewed and plans for development of the club will be considered. Club members have your voice heard and make a special effort to be present.

A good entry for this tournament. We encourage players to play matches promptly and avoid a log jam towards the end.

As work proceeds on our hall, our card season will conclude early. Our final Accumulator begins Wednesday, February 20, and continues February 27, March 6 and 13. Best three out of four scores to hit the Jackpot. Game begins 8.30pm. Winners last week: Billy O’Donnell and Denis Brennan on 12 games with Attracta and Ebbie O’Reilly runners-up.

Walkers continue to explore new routes. Next Sunday meet at 10.45pm at the entrance to Kilcash Wood. Irish dancing for children continues on Friday afternoons 4.30pm to 6pm. We remember Ciss Geary and Ann Fanning who passed away recently. Both were regulars at our Senior Citizen’s Party in recent years. Sympathy to their families.

Congratulations to Niamh Martin on winning the Recitation in the Scor na bPaisti County Final. This was a super achievement for Niamh. She also won this competition last year. We commend Tommie Mullins on a wonderful performance in the Solo Singing.

On Sunday the U12 footballers met Moyle Rovers in a close contest with no shortage of skill. Team: Charles Shanahan, Jack Roche, Daire Murphy, Lee Ryan, Paul Brunnock, Billy Murphy, Cathal Kelly, Billy O’Connor, Karl Dawson, Jason Madigan, Ben O’Connell, Jack O’Loughlin, Adam Quigley.

The AGM was held on Wednesday. The Bronze Medal won in 2012 was on display and gave everyone the incentive to go that further mile to achieve better results this year. Last year’s Spring Clean was a success and it is hoped that this year more residents to come out and do their bit. Work on flower beds will start in March. For info call George 0872705671.
