Men’s Shed

Having been established only recently the Clonmel Men’s Shed is quickly becoming a hive of activity.

The weekly meetings are well attended and some projects as suggested by the members have already been initiated. These are a great source of social interaction between those involved. The VEC has kindly provided tutors to give informal training sessions on subjects such as the use of SKYPE and local history and this has been of great benefit to our members. Some local people have also given their time to advise us on gardening techniques and making hanging baskets. More of these talks are being arranged for the coming weeks. It is planned that visits to places of interest and to various production plants will take place in the near future.

It is important to stress that the Men’s Shed is a place where all men are welcome. It is the personal choice of anyone attending if they wish to get involved in a project, suggest a project, come to play a game, read a book, or just come to have a coffee a chat and a bit of banter. The Men’s Shed is run by the members for the members.

Sincere thanks to Larry O’Keeffe, Lidl and a host of local people and businesses for their much appreciated sponsorship and support.

If you decide to visit or join you will be assured of a warm welcome by the members when you enter the shed. We are situated in Bridgewater House and we are open Monday & Thursday 7pm – 9.30pm and Wednesday 9.30am – 12.30pm. Further information is available on 0868239394 or 0862654577.
