The first lecture will be held on Thursday December 1st  at 8.00 pm when local man James Fogarty will give a talk on Rev. Badminton League Continues

Badminton leagues are well under way with most teams putting up strong performances and getting important practice in for the team league fixtures which kick off very soon. Fixtures are printed on club notice board. Wishing the best of luck for the future to Catherine Scanlon and Paul Tuohy who exchange marriage vows on Dec 3rd. Catherine has been allowed just enough leave to race up the aisle followed by a quick honeymoon, between important league fixtures !!

Tennis Update

Our celebratory night for 2011 in Polly’s was a great success with the various victories noted and applauded. The ladies November league concluded with Catherine Maher and Reidin Fogarty emerging victorious in Group 2 and Catherine Scanlon and Anne Newe the winners of Group 2. There has been a reshuffle of partnerships for the December league, which is progressing. Also progressing but at a slower pace, is the men’s league, results of which should be forthcoming very soon.

Alliance of the Two Hearts Vigil

The Alliance of the Two Hearts is delighted to welcome His Grace, Most Rev. Dr. Dermot Clifford D.D. to Templemore for the December vigil next weekend, Friday 2nd and we would like to thank Fr. Tomas O’Connell, Thurles, for being with us in November. The vigil will commence as usual at 7.30p.m with Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and Rosary. His Grace will celebrate Holy Mass for the First Saturday at 12.05am which will be preceded by the usual cup of tea at 10.30p.m., and Confessions. The vigil answers the request made by Pope Benedict XVI for more prayers of reparation, so why not come for an hour “Shoulder My yoke and learn from Me for I am meek and humble of heart.” Know that all are welcome, especially new faces.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank very sincerely all the priests who in their generosity of service made themselves available during the past year to celebrate Holy Masses at the monthly vigils. Thanks also to all those loyal devotees to the Sacred Heart and the Immaculate Heart who attended during the year. Last but not least we thank Sr. Mary, Ann and the staff of the Canon Noonan Centre for the use of the premises for the vigil; and we extend our compliments on the very tasteful redecoration of the Oratory. We wish one and all a very happy and holy Christmas and every grace and blessing for the New Year.

Paddy has a long association with the GAA, not just with clubs in our parish but in his native Roscrea and Athlone. His activities continue since his playing days as a Selector, Administrator at the club - Divisional and County Board and provincial Level. He is always willing to put his shoulder to the wheel. A hugely deserves award winner.
