Tipperary communities are encouraged to get involved in National Spring Clean

Communities across Tipperary are being encouraged to come together to tackle litter in our towns and villages this spring.

Registrations have opened for the An Taisce National Spring Clean, and community groups and individuals across county Tipperary are encouraged to get involved.

The National Spring Clean, supported by Mars Wrigley, returns for the 26th year this year, and has seen over 50,000 tonnes of litter removed from streets, parks, and coastlines over the years.

After the success of the 25th anniversary National Spring Clean last year, organisers are now hoping for a big turnout to make this year bigger than ever.

Emlyn Cullen, Programme Manager, An Taisce said that the initiative has helped to keep communities across Ireland clean and tidy.

"Over the years, the National Spring Clean campaign has been hugely successful in combatting litter and protecting local environments and biodiversity, thanks to the efforts of thousands of volunteers in communities across the country.

"We’re looking forward to another year of positive impact, with the launch of the 2025 National Spring Clean campaign," he added.

Last year, 30% of all waste cleaned up during the National Spring Clean was recycled as the campaign continues to highlight the importance of a circular economy and waste reduction.

Corporate Affairs Manager with Mars Wrigley Ireland Anne Sheeran said that "Mars Wrigley Ireland is proud to support another year of the National Spring Clean, which is a fantastic initiative, and always delivers a hugely positive impact".
