An Garda Síochána contacted the local mountain rescue team at 1.45pm to assist a walker who had fallen and suffered a lower leg injury.
The injured person was part of a group of three experienced and well-equipped hill walkers, but a slip brought their outing to an end.
Team members and vehicles responded and travelled to the Cush car park before being transferred to the top of the Cush boreen in team Land Rovers.

The walker was then placed on a stretcher and sledded down to a team Land Rover at the top of the Cush boreen, before being transported to the waiting National Ambulance Service ambulance at the car park.
The operation concluded with a stand down at 6.43pm, with all personnel safely off the hill.
The team extended best wishes for a speedy recovery to the casualty, who is a former team member and had previously spent several years assisting others in similar situations.
