St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Clonmel an outstanding success

The St. Patrick’s Day parade in Clonmel on Saturday was an outstanding success with the very large attendance enjoying a wonderful spectacle. The rain which was threatening earlier in the day held off for the duration of the parade as all the floats made their way through the town from the starting point in Irishtown to the review stand in Parnell Street. A feature this year were some outstanding floats from the Shellyikybookie Street Entertainment group as well as the usual commercial, sporting and cultural floats.

See the attached slideshow for a flavour of some of the personalities, floats and supporting public who turned out to add the success of the event.

A full report of the Clonmel parade and all the other parades from Tipperary, Carrick-on-Suir and Cashel will be in this week’s issue of The Nationalist on sale on Wednesday.
