Heritage Week in Tipperary

Heritage Week began on Saturday 18th of August and ran until Sunday 26th of August. Throughout the week, over 1500 events, most of which were free, took place all across Ireland. The huge support of these events had a knock-on-economic impact for the many towns and villages across the country who hosted heritage events. Over 70 events were held throughout Tipperary with something for everybody including walks and talks, tours and workshops, tracing your ancestors, music, dance and much more.

Heritage Officer, Marion Carey, commended the local Community Groups and Individuals who organised events throughout the County, and on behalf of the North Tipperary Heritage Forum sincerely thanked all involved. She stated that Heritage Week is ultimately about community participation, education and above all enjoyment.
