Music fans are praising Bambie Thug for their cover of Zombie by The Cranberries.
The Irish Eurovision hopeful has released a music video and cover of the anti-war song, with the video racking up almost 55,000 views in just 17 hours.
It was reportedly shot in a cemetery in Malmo, Sweden ahead of the first semi-final of the 2024 Eurovision Song Contest, which Bambie will perform in tonight (May 7).
The song's release appears to be timely amid calls for a Eurovision boycott due to the inclusion of Israel's song entry.
Bambie and other performers have also faced calls to pull out of the competition over the last number of weeks as attacks on Palestine continue.
RTÉ posted a preview of the Zombies music video on X this week (May 5), with dozens of social media users commenting on the post.
One person commented, "Giving me shivers. Love this."
Another commented, "Bambie's voice suits this so well. I got chills even from just one line."
However, not everyone was pleased with the cover.
One X user wrote, "This is so creepy and dark," while another commented, "Very disrespectful. And it's not a good song anyway so no point."
Meanwhile, hundreds of people have left overwhelmingly positive comments under the music video on YouTube.
One person commented, "Everyday I grow more and more obsessed with Bambie Thug."
Another wrote, "Unexpected, but somehow makes so much sense."
Another commenter wrote, "So different from the original and so good on its own, it sounds like another song made by them. And that's the best thing a cover can be."
