Members of the 123 Infantry Battalion received a hero's welcome as they returned home after a challenging six-month deployment in the Middle East last Friday.
The troops, who dedicated themselves to promoting peace in Lebanon were greeted with cheers and tears from their supportive family and friends at Dublin Airport.
"It would bring a tear to a stone," said a spokesperson for the Irish Defence Forces. On their arrival, the soldiers received with hugs, kisses, smiles, waves and more from those who awaited their safe return.
In the background, ceremonial Irish uilleann pipes played as the tricolour was flown all around.
"Fáilte abhaile, agus míle buíochas," added the spokesperson, expressing thanks for the essential role they played during their mission.
The soldiers saw themselves positioned on the Blue Line, on Lebanon's southern frontier, between Israel, who are currently raging war on Palestine.
