Following his red card in Sunday's semi-final win, concerns were raised that the corner-forward might miss the decider due to it being his second sending-off in this championship season.
Under GAA rules, a second red card within a 48-week window typically results in a suspension.
However, McCarthy’s dismissal in the semi-final stemmed from two yellow cards, in contrast to the straight red he received during the Munster Championship clash with Cork.
Because of this distinction, the Toomevara player will not face an additional ban and remains available for the final.
