The Honda 50 & Vintage Bike Run in memory of Damian Dempsey takes place on May 2

The second annual Damian Dempsey memorial bike run will take place this weekend, on Saturday, May 2.

Those looking to take part are being encouraged to ride their Honda 50s, or any other vintage motorbikes, on the day.

The run is being done to raise money for the Kevin Bell Foundation, who aided the Dempsey family greatly during Damian's repatriation.

Sign in for the run will take place at Woodview Service Station in Cahir from 12pm, with the bikes leaving at 2pm sharp.

The following day, Sunday, May 3, there will be music in The Hill Bar from 7pm until close.

There will also be spot prizes on the night.

Speaking ahead of the event, organisers said: "Eugene and Geraldine would like to extend our sincere thanks to all our family and friends for your generous support of last year’s Memorial event for Damian.

"Your support and contributions played a vital role in the success of this event. Through your time and sponsorship, we raised significant funds for the Kevin Bell foundation who supported us greatly when we needed to repatriate Damian.

"We truly appreciate your contribution. We are also remembering our son Damian in May 2025 and would like to extend our invitation to the 2026 event, which will be held over the weekend of May 2nd and 3rd 2026

"Thank you once again for your generosity and support over the last 2 years. Eugene and Geraldine."
