Council makes order to close section of N24 in Tipperary and other roads for L'Etape cycle

The L'Etape Ireland Cycle event takes place in south Tipperary and west Waterford on Sunday, September 28

Tipperary County Council has give notice that it has mad an order to temporarily close a number of roads on Sunday, September 28 to facilitate the L'Etape Ireland cycling event.

It's proposing the road closures at different times between 5am and 4.30pm with the N24 between Carrick-on-Suir and Clonmel among the roads affected.

Closure 1: Town Wall Street & William Street, Carrick-on-Suir. 

Location: From Kickham Street to New Street, Carrick-on-Suir

Time: 05:00 AM – 09:15 AM

Closure 2: Clonmel Road (N24), Carrick-on-Suir

Location: From Sean Kelly Square, Carrick-on-Suir to the Kilheffernan Roundabout, Clonmel

Time: 08:45 AM – 09:30 AM

Closure 3: Clonmel Road (Single Lane South) (N24)

Location: From the Kilheffernan Roundabout to the Ferryhouse Roundabout, Clonmel.

Time: 09:15 AM – 10:00 AM

Closure 4: – Tikincor Climb (L-7082)

Location: From the junction of R680 to junction of R671 (Ballymacarbry Village), Co. Waterford

Time: 09:15 AM – 10:45 AM
Note: Local access available

Closure 5: R668

Location: From R671 Junction (Newtown Crossroads), Co. Waterford to Junction of R668 (Convent Road), Clogheen, Co. Tipperary.

Time: 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM

Closure 6: Glenshelane Road 

Location: From Glenshelane Road to Junction of R672

Time: 11:30 AM – 2:00 PM

Closure 7:  Beary’s Crossroads L7025

Location: From Junction of R672 (Beary’s Crossroad) to junction of R676

Time: 12:00 PM – 3:00 PM

Closure 8: Seskin Hill 

Location: From junction of R676 to junction of R680

Time: 01:15 PM – 04:20 PM
