Stone repairs underway with benches, play area and boardwalk plans advancing in Cashel town park project
An update has been issued on the ongoing development of Cashel Town Park, with local councillor Declan Burgess outlining the current status of works and the next stages of the project as construction activity continues on site.
The update comes in response to a significant level of public interest in recent weeks, with residents seeking clarity on the pace of progress and the timeline for completion of various elements of the park. Cllr Burgess acknowledged that there have been delays in the delivery of the project and said he was conscious of the concerns being raised locally.
He said he had received a large number of questions regarding Cashel’s new town park and wanted to provide a clear outline of the works that are currently underway and those scheduled in the near term.
At present, a number of key construction phases are underway or about to begin in the coming month. According to the update, stone wall repair works commenced last week. In addition, picnic bench installation is scheduled for this week.
Another significant milestone in the project is the planned installation of play equipment, which is expected to begin in early June. Alongside these works, the tender process for the proposed boardwalk is currently being advertised.
The boardwalk element represents a further phase in the overall development of the park, with the process now moving towards the appointment of a suitable contractor by the end of June.
In his recent statement Cllr Burgess added, ““I will continue to work closely with officials in Tipperary County Council to ensure we deliver a state-of-the-art Town Park that can be enjoyed by both locals and visitors to Cashel.” The town park project remains one of the key local developments in Cashel. Cllr Burgess ended by stating that further updates will be provided.
