Clonmel Daffodil Day Group launched their fundraising campaign in Place4U.
The venue proved a great success and the organisers would like to express thanks for the wonderful support received and to the staff of Place4U for their help in organising the event.
Among the attendees were the Mayor of Clonmel Cllr Pat English Pat English and Nicola McMahon ( Munster Coordinator).

Chairperson Agnes O Donohue welcomed and thanked all those present for their continued support which helps raise cancer awareness and allows for provision of important services.
She added that new volunteers are always welcome especially as Daffodil Day approaches (28th March). Nicola McMahon informed those present of the tremendous work carried out in the locality by night nurses caring for the terminally ill.
She outlined that 351 nights of night nurse care were provided locally last year. She also referenced the Volunteer Driver Service which patients availed of to travel to and from chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatments.
Daffodil funds have also been invested in research for improved screening programmes and detection. Nita McElroy, member of night nurse team thanked all involved for their fundraising and outlined the invaluable support provided to adults and children who avail of the service.

Donations of fresh daffodils would be greatly appreciated for daffodil day and may be dropped into Sporting Press Office( beside Showgrounds Shopping Centre) on Thursday 27th March between 2 and 4pm and Friday from 9.30 to 3 pm. Thanking the people of Clonmel for their continued generous support.
