Tipperary community is warned to wake up to the scourge of drug taking

Clonmel as a community has to wake up to the scourge of drugs, a local councillor has warned.

Cllr Richie Molloy said the people of the town and the authorities can no longer continue to ignore what is happening on our streets.

It was time, said Cllr Molloy, for Tipperary TDs to put pressure on the Garda Commissioner on the issue.

He issued his warning after watching a video of two men "shooting up" drugs over the weekend at the Main Guard in the centre of the town.

Cllr Molloy also expressed his disappointment that Clonmel only received one new Garda following the latest passing out ceremony at the Garda Training College in Templemore last week.
