Gardaí are investigating a fatal house fire that occurred on Sunday evening, November 23, 2025 in Clonmel, county Tipperary.

Gardaí and emergency services were alerted to a fire at a residence in Carrigeen at approximately 6pm.

A male, aged in his 70s, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

No other injuries were reported.

His body was removed to University Hospital Waterford where a post-mortem examination will take place in due course.

The scene is currently preserved for technical examination.

Investigations are ongoing.
