Tipperary Garda Superintendent welcomes the introduction of high-visibility foot patrol

Superintendent Niall O'Connell

The Christmas High Visibility Policing Operation in Clonmel started on Monday.
Introduced last year, the foot patrol operation will again be implemented this Christmas and will run until 24th December.
Additional foot patrols will be allocated to the town centre to combat anti-social behaviour and ensure a pleasant experience for members of the public and business owners.
A new Community Policing Unit has also been launched to assist in crime prevention and build on our relationships with community members.
Superintendent Niall O'Connell said “The high-visibility foot patrol introduced last year in the weeks before Christmas was a success, and I have decided to do it again this year because we received strong feedback from it.”
